2007 Fund raising
I donated £1,295 to cover my trip expenses, registration fee and my contribution, so every penny you gave went to Macmillan. We raised over £1,000 on a collection day at Sainsbury's, an own clothes day at my daughter's school raised over £600 and an open garden day and plant sale raised over £400. I raised over £4,500, many thanks to all who supported me. The total that Karen, Lesley and myself raised over the 2 years was in excess of £10,000!!
2006 Fund raising
Karen and Lesley completed the Inca Trail in April 2006 after raising over £3,000 each for Macmillan, here they are at the sanctuary.

One of the stunning views as i climbed up to Warmiwanuska pass

This is the top of Warmiwanuska pass which at 4215m is the highest point on the Inca Trail

Friday 16 March 2007 - Coniston Old Man. We had planned to do the walk along the ridge to Brim Fell, Swirl How and across to Wetherlam but when we got to the top of the 'Old Man' the wind was so strong we could not stand up so we came straight back down.

View across to Scafells from Red Pike on the Mosedale horseshoe.

Karen and me on Pillar after the High Level Route and Shamrock traverse ascent....is that my knees still shaking!!!

View of our way down off Great Gable via Great Hell's Gate from the top of Westmorland Crag - Awesome.
Easter Walks - We did the Mosedale Horeshoe on 11 April, St. Bees to St. Bees lighthouse and back on 12 April and Great Gable from Wasdale Head on 13 April. Just to add some interest we went up Pillar via the high level route and Shamrock traverse via Robinson's Cairn which is an amazing way up a mountain. For Great Gable we kept the interesting bit for the way down, we visited Westmorland crag and came down via Great Hell's gate the picture does not do this amazing place justice.

May Day Bank Holiday - Friday 4 May Tryfan via the North ridge, Glyder Fach via Bristly ridge and Glyder Fawr.
Sunday 6 May The full Snowdon horseshoe - Crib Goch, Crib-y-ddsygl (Carnedd Ugain), Yr Wydddfa (Snowdon) and Y Lliwedd.

This rock is called 'The Cannon' and is half way up Tryfan via the North ridge.

These two rocks are called 'Adam and Eve' and mark the top of Tryfan, we went on to do Glyder Fach via Bristly Ridge and Glyder Fawr and back down to Llyn Ogwen via 'Devil's Kitchen' the whole walk was completed in clear blue skies but the terrain was much more rugged than the Lake District where we do most of our walking.

Karen having just completed the sensationally thin part of the Crib Goch ridge, the exposure was extreme and the look on her face tells you that she was not happy with this ridge. It is 2km long, 3,000 feet high and the thickness of a dry stone wall!!
We went on to do the full Snowdon horseshoe. The picture below is of me on the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).
